FIELD TRIPS – PROGRAM

GENERAL SCHEDULE

SOIL MICROMORPHOLOGY COURSEAugust 25–30, 2020 (optional)

THE CONFERENCE – August 30 – September 3, 2020:

  • August 30 (Sunday) – registration at the conference venue (in the afternoon) and ice-breaking party, Institute of Geography and Spatial Management, Jagiellonian University
  • August 31 (Monday) – registration, opening session, plenary sessions, poster session 1, afternoon: visit in the Kraków city center with a guide
  • September 1 (Tuesday) – Plenary sessions, poster session 2, IUSS Business Meeting, Banquet
  • September 2 (Wednesday) – Mid-conference trip (micromorphology of selected soils in Kraków and its close vicinity, visit in the Soil Museum)
  • September 3 (Thursday) – Plenary sessions, summary and closing ceremony

POST-CONFERENCE TRIP – September 4–6, 2020 (from Friday to Sunday), Kraków – Sandomierz – Kielce – Kraków (optional): Polish Upland tour with emphasis to micromorphology of: soils developed from loess, gypsum and carbonate rocks; paleosols in Quaternary sequences; fossil Jurassic Podzols; Technosols in metal mining areas.
